MercyMed Patient Care During COVID-19

Safe and reliable care for our patients has been, and will be our priority throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Please review how we will serve you best with the following precautions.

OFFICE VISITS

Meet a friendly volunteer at the MercyMed door, have your temperature checked, and answer a few questions about fever and cough. The screening volunteer will ensure your safety, and also direct you to the correct entrance or waiting line for the service you need that day.

Our Steam Mill Road Location- MercyMed at Mission Columbus- is closed temporarily.  For urgent care visits, Mission Columbus patients please contact the 2nd avenue location.

TELEMED VISITS

Your healthcare provider is looking forward to treating you via telemedicine. We use https://doxy.me/ to provide HIPPA-compliant quality care to our patients! If you have a smartphone, you will receive a hyperlink to click and connect on video with your provider.  And, you do not need to download an app.  Review your text or e-mail for the hyperlink when we call to schedule your visit.

OFFICE HOURS

We have staff available during regular office hours Monday-Friday. Call the office at (706) 507-9209. Or, for more direct communication, use the MercyMed patient portal to send messages directly to your medical provider.

WELL CHILD VISITS AND KIDS FOLLOW-UP (Ages 1-18)

To minimize the exposure risk for COVID-19, we will postpone all pediatric visits to 2 months from now.  For infants younger than 1 year old, a staff member will contact you to determine if an office visit is necessary for vaccines.

ROUTINE FOLLOW-UP AND ANNUAL VISITS

We will perform regularly scheduled follow-ups and annual visits via telemed.  We will set up your next in-office appointment for 3 months at the end of the conversation.

NEW PATIENT VISITS

If you require a visit after a hospitalization or need a new primary care provider, we are available via telemed. Please call to schedule an appointment. And, if the provider deems it necessary for you to be seen in-office, they will schedule an in-office visit at the end of the telemed call.

COUNSELING/PSYCHIATRY VISITS

For mental health needs, in-office appointments are not currently available. Our counselors are available to provide telephone meetings and check-ins for our established patients.  If you are in a crisis, please call as soon as possible and we will connect you with a counselor in our office.

PHYSICAL THERAPY VISITS

In-house physical therapy appointments are available on a limited basis.  Our PT department will be in contact with you to provide telemed visits, resources for you during this time of social distancing, and hope and encouragement for your continued recovery!

DENTAL VISITS

All dental visits have been cancelled until further notice. But, if you are struggling with an acute issue i.e. dental abscess, severe dental pain, dental trauma, please set up a telemed visit with one of our medical providers to receive appropriate care.

SICK VISITS

If you have a fever or cough, please call the clinic. You will be connected to a provider who will decide your next best steps. The severity of your case will determine whether to stay home and recover conservatively or go to the hospital.

NURSE VISITS

The nurse visit schedule will continue to  accommodate patients who need urgent labs or coumadin checks.

ALL OTHER VISITS

We prefer Telemed to reduce risks. But there are some visits that are best completed in person.  We will have a provider in the office during regular office hours to provide you with the care you need. As always, visits are by appointment only.

REFILLS

Do not hesitate to contact our office to request refills on medication.  When you request a refill, we will send a message to your provider. The provider will respond within 3 business days. We prefer to provide 90-day supplies of all medications. Remember that the cost of the 90-day supply will be initially higher than the 30-day supply but we highly recommend 90-day supplies.
