"This place practically saved my life. It taught me how to live again."
Without MercyMed I would be going downhill quick. I was at a homeless shelter. I could not go back to work and make good money with my physical illness. Without exercise, a diabetic can’t survive. I’m borderline and trying to stay off insulin. Scott’s a nice guy. He saved my life for sure, gave me guideposts to get back to health. I exercise at home, too. It has helped with my neuropathy in certain areas, but did not take it away entirely.
The old days I did drugs and alcohol and hid. But now I have no shame. Nothing to hide.

“MercyMed is awesome, it’s a lifesaver. It has given me some hope for the future.”
I was staying at the Open Door Community house and the staff recommended MercyMed. My first experience was very positive, and the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and forthcoming. It was a wonderful experience.
I have herniated discs in my back. I tried to get back treatment for about 3 years, and MercyMed helped me accomplish that. They put me in touch with St. Francis’ financial aid and I’ve been cleared and able to now see the surgeon.
MercyMed is awesome, it’s a lifesaver. It has given me some hope for the future. I really want to go back to work, and I really am hopeful to be able to do that. Dr. Barr, Deena, Becca and that tall man– the whole staff is great.

“No one has ever asked me that before. To ask about how I felt meant a lot to me.”
I had become very depressed and was basically giving up. When I came to my appointment for the first time, everybody was nice. That was irritating at first because they were trying to help me when I just wanted them to leave me alone. They were very patient with me.
Other doctors would just see me and give me a lot of pills. MercyMed was 1000% different. After they took blood one day, Becca sat there and prayed with me for a difficult family situation. It still get to me, because I’ve never gone into a doctor’s office where they do that. At first visit, we reviewed my medication and they asked, ‘how do you feel about that?’ No one ever asked me that before. To ask about how I felt meant a lot to me.
I love the freedom to say, ‘okay doctor, now will you have a word of prayer for me as I’m leaving?’ Dr. Barr always makes time to do that. Overall, I think it’s fantastic.

“I want to let them know how great MercyMed is and how it helped me get back on track.”
I lost my job and had no money for my medication. Mission Columbus directed me to MercyMed for help. Now, with the right prescription and medication, my sugar is down, my blood pressure is down, and my health is good.
The programs here have helped me a lot. I know there are other people who are going through the same troubles as me. I want to let them know how great MercyMed is and how it helped me get back on track. They have worked with me on my medication and checking my vision. If you need something, MercyMed will work it out. It has been an excellent experience.
